Born from a longing for something better
Nearly 18 years ago, the founders of Natural Dynamix School searched high and low for a school they truly loved for their own children. When they couldn’t find it, they did what passionate educators do – they built it themselves. In the same spirit, Music Minds was born from a conviction that using music in education, when done well, is not an “extra”. It is essential. It is formative. It changes children from the inside out.
Both organisations were founded not by people who settled for what existed, but by people who dared to reimagine what school and learning could look like for children.
The Whole Child
Natural Dynamix School has, from its very first day, nurtured the whole child – mind, body, and heart. Their approach invites children to dig in the dirt, climb trees, run barefoot through the grass, and engage with the world through their senses. Inside the classroom, learning is hands-on, relational, and joyful. Academic rigour is never sacrificed, but it is always partnered with emotional growth and physical wellbeing.
This is precisely the philosophy that Music Minds carries into every school it serves. Music is not a subject that exists in isolation. It is a vehicle for developing every dimension of a child.
Social-Emotional learning at the core
One of the cornerstones of the Natural Dynamix philosophy is that social-emotional learning is just as important as academics – and that the two grow best together. Their teachers are trained in coaching language that gives children the words and confidence to work through arguments, frustrations, and tough moments.
Music Minds shares this conviction wholeheartedly. In our classrooms children learn to listen – not just to themselves, but to one another. They learn to celebrate each other’s
growth. They learn that their unique voice has value, and that collaboration creates something more beautiful than any individual could achieve alone.

Natural Dynamix believes children grow through doing, moving, and belonging. Their small classes of 12 to 16 learners ensure that every child is seen, known, and valued – never just a face in the crowd. The school intentionally slows down in a world that rushes children, creating space for discovery, imagination, and genuine connection.
Music Minds brings this same ethos to its programme. Every lesson is an experience – not a lecture. Children are active participants. They clap, move, create, improvise, and explore. Music is learned through the body before it is learned through the page. And within the classroom, every child belongs. There is no “too slow” or “not enough”. There is only encouragement, growth, and joy.

Yvette Offenberg, the founder, puts it beautifully: they have built a school where children grow, move, and belong, without sacrificing academic standards.

Yvette Offenberg, reflecting on 18 years of Natural Dynamix (who caters for children from Gr.
